Empowering public health professionals in Minneapolis through wellness and resilience

November 2, 2024
Rochester, NY — Ne Taba International is pleased to share its participation in the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2024 Annual Meeting, where it hosted a Tae Kwon Do workshop on Sunday, October 29th. The event, held as part of the conference’s wellness corner in Minneapolis, Minnesota, attracted over 15 participants. The APHA Annual Meeting, with more than 10,000 public health professionals from around the globe, is a renowned platform for advancing insights and fostering dialogue in public health practice.
The wellness corner offered a range of activities aimed at enhancing both mental and physical well-being. The workshop focused on the intersection of physical fitness, mental health, and community engagement, emphasizing the role of exercise in boosting cognitive function, managing stress, and increasing productivity, especially in high-pressure public health environments.
Led by Halimah S. Ouedraogo, founder and 2nd-degree black belt, the session introduced Tae Kwon Do as an effective way to enhance physical activity and overall well-being. Ms. Ouedraogo emphasized that any form of exercise—whether Tae Kwon Do, running, or dancing—can improve health and resilience. The workshop provided participants with practical tools to boost fitness, manage stress, and increase productivity in public health practice.
